Aloha Pools

Looking at the featured project, it is evident that Aloha Pools is highly skilled in creating quality, stylish pools with ease. The company has been delivering some of Melbourne’s highest quality pools for more than 46 years, and this project is no exception.

When the homeowners first approached Aloha Pools, they had a range of ideas about what they wanted, but were unsure how to combine them into an overall harmonious design. They requested a pool and spa that would make the most of the available space, while boasting strong visual appeal. Taking this brief on board, Greg Fell of Aloha Pools, in conjunction with Steve Taylor of COS Design, came up with a stunning result that incorporated the homeowners’ pool and landscape requirements.

In order to make the most of the limited space available, the pool location was of vital importance. The pool was successfully positioned close to the rear boundary of the outdoor area so that the adjacent space could be used for entertaining purposes.

The spa was constructed to sit raised above the pool with all four sides built as a wet-edge, allowing water to spill over the side and into the pool. Being on display, the exterior walls of the spa were made to be a standout feature of the project by using a gorgeous white blend of Bisazza glass mosaic tiles that tie in nicely with the white ceramic tiles used for the interior of the pool and spa.

The tiles create a subtle blue water colour that complements the planter boxes that run along two sides of the pool. A block feature wall was positioned opposite the spa, and a sheer descent water spout was incorporated just below a stylish, decorative light box. The combined effect of the water feature and light box creates a striking centrepiece in the garden.

By installing an automatic in-floor cleaning system, the team at Aloha Pools ensured that nothing would detract from the vibrant blue water. An Aqualink control system manages the pool and spa functions, while a combination of gas and solar heating maintains the water temperature at a comfortable level.

The pool is surrounded by stone paving, raised planter boxes, a floating sundeck and frameless glass fencing, creating a harmonious balance between the pool and garden. The effective use of pool and garden lighting ensures that the space looks stunning and inviting throughout the day and into the night, allowing for it to be enjoyed at any hour.

Aloha Pools has proven its worth, being recognised as an industry leader for innovative designs and individual concepts on numerous occasions. In 2011 that recognition was received at a state, national and international levels, and the company continues to shine with each new, innovative project it completes.
