By pairing superior craftsmanship with a considered design and a clever combination of materials, the compact size of this outdoor space was no match for East Coast Pools, and the resulting pool is the epitome of style.

Despite their small backyard, the homeowners didn’t want to compromise on style or functionality, with a vision for a pool that the whole family could enjoy, whether entertaining, exercising or relaxing. East Coast Pools worked closely with the homeowners and landscape architect Kate Patterson to fulfil the brief.

Measuring 5m x 5m, the concrete pool features a bench seat at one end, which spans the width of the pool. This is the perfect place for the homeowners to sit back and relax, or for their children to splash and play. While catering to a young family, East Coast Pools also ensured the pool has a suitable swimming depth for the homeowners, and the children as they get older.

Complementing the timber-clad house and red brick boundary wall, the eye-catching fully-tiled pool interior has been paired with bluestone coping and weathered timber decking.

An elegantly simple handmade stainless steel water feature on the raised bluestone-clad planter box trickles water into the pool below. This feature can be enjoyed regardless of whether the pool is in use, thanks to the fully-frameless glass fencing, which also creates a sense of openness in a compact space.
