SOAK UP THE SUN

With an enviable location overlooking Port Phillip Bay, the team at enkipools pushed the boundaries and created a spectacular pool and spa design that maximises the ocean views while also ensuring privacy. By embracing the sweeping curves and bold architectural features of the home, there is a natural cohesion between the house, pool and landscape design, successfully creating the sense that all three were designed in seamless unison.

In-situ polished concrete was utilised to create a simple yet elegant design that highlights the beautiful views. The use of levels maximised the small outdoor space and allowed the creation of a large poolside terrace that is perfect for catching the sun while taking in the ocean views. The beautiful simplicity of these polished concrete surrounds is matched by the spectacular pool design, which boasts a contemporary curved outer edge and large step entrance. Completing this breathtaking oasis are the ‘Arctic White’ Skypebble penny round tiles that line the interior.

Frameless glass fencing ensures there is no visual obstruction between the alfresco and pool areas, nor distraction from the views. enkipools took this even further and created a dry moat between the pool and lawn, reducing the amount of pool fence required and giving landscape architect, Kate Monk, the opportunity to create a feature wall in the landscaping, tiled in an uncommon penny round tile.

Designed in a perfect circle with a rounded 360-degree infinity edge that falls into a hidden channel, the brilliant yellow spa is the eye-catching hero of this project. enkipools’ tilers enhanced this intricate design by laying the unique lemon-yellow tiles down individually to create perfect concentric circles, further reflecting the exploration of shape throughout the project.

With a 2.5m diameter, the spa comfortably seats 8 adults, and the underwater LED lights from Spa Electrics are the perfect complement to the space. This spa and pool design is the perfect entertaining area that offers unobstructed ocean views and tranquil privacy.
