Exotic Pools Project 3

This striking linear pool by Exotic Pools exudes modern sophistication, and was part of a property redevelopment to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the outdoor area. Designed to replace the existing swimming pool, the new pool is larger, measuring 10m x 5m, and now includes a 3m x 1.5m spa down the deep end. The pool also features seven-metre-long extended steps, which stretch from the edge of the spa to the far end of the pool.

Contrasting colours were used to tile the pool and spa – a high-gloss white for the pool and a high-gloss black for the spa – to complement the modern style and features of the home and pavilion. The spa is thoughtfully placed in the corner nearest to the sundeck and pavilion for easy access. The pool area features frameless glass fencing for continuity between the garden, tennis court, and entertaining area.

Before construction could commence, the old pool and spa had to be excavated, and the dismantled materials were disposed of responsibly at a recycling plant. A larger space then had to be excavated to allow for the new pool’s size, and the levels were adjusted. The experienced team at Exotic Pools were able to effortlessly execute the transition without compromising the foundations of the new pool.

The updated pool includes an array of contemporary features, including a Sunbather Downunder thermal blanket, which was installed to maintain optimal water temperature, reduce evaporation and keep out debris from surrounding trees. It also features a Viron Connect 10 with a complementary iPhone application, which allows the owners to remotely control the pool and spa functions including the lights, temperature and solar sensor. A water leveller was installed to keep the pool and spa filled the ideal amount at all times.

The pool is fully heated using solar, with a Viron 450 eVo gas heater providing warmth during the colder months. A Viron eQuilibrium saltwater chlorinator with automatic pH sensing and a PV3 in-floor cleaning system with an additional booster pump also add to the pools functionality.
