Fine Art Pools Project 1
Refined Coastal Oasis
Fine Art Pools is a family-owned and -operated business that specialises in concrete pool building, infinity pools, pool and spa combos, curved and round spas, fully formed pools and water features. The owner, Frankie, was set this project which came with a few significant challenges, all of which were carefully managed to ensure a smooth outcome.
Access to the site was tight, so a compact excavator and motorised wheelbarrow were used to move soil that was then transferred to a truck using a bobcat. The main sewer line ran directly through the proposed pool area, and stormwater drainage system also crossed through the build zone. This required precise coordination to reroute safely around the pool, and the team installed additional drainage points to ensure the surrounding paving remained functional and flood resistant.
The result is a stunning pool that seamlessly blends elegance and beach living, focusing on soft, organic forms and a clean resort-inspired aesthetic. The client wanted the pool area to feel sophisticated and inviting, inspired by the natural curves and colours of the Sorrento coastline – leading to the design of a curved spa with rounded steps and seating. This calming, sculptural centrepiece is framed by Garonne Modular Tumbled, unfilled travertine coping and paving, giving the outdoor space a timeless, high-end feel.
Low-maintenance functionality was also a priority, so the AstroMax H35 Turbo 35kW Single Phase Heat Pump by CHR Heat Pumps was incorporated to deliver powerful, efficient heating. Beyond extending the swim season and eliminating the need for gas, this system efficiently heats and maintains the spa at 40°C and the pool at 30°C.
This project makes smart use of the available space by positioning the pool along the property’s rear boundary, creating a spacious and open area between the home and water. The design allows for a seamless flow from the alfresco to a dedicated barbecue and dining zone, with ample room to host large gatherings without compromising functionality or aesthetics.
The client was in constant discussion regarding internal pool design changes, including the spa shape, curves, and seating arrangements. As the Fine Art Pools team was on-site every day, these challenges were seamlessly addressed, providing a smooth outcome and positive experience for the client.
Throughout the entire process, the Fine Art Pools team maintained a clean, respectful worksite to minimise disruption to the client and neighbouring properties. Reach out to Fine Art Pools to discover what magic they can create to bring your dream pool to life.
