KlayCon Landscape Construction Project 1
LUSH AND LOW MAINTENANCE
For this project, the client desired a lush, low maintenance garden that offers attractive outlooks from within the house, as well as a landscaping design that complements the appealing façade. The client also wanted to retain the gorgeous Liquidambar tree in the front garden and prioritise improving access to the front veranda.
KlayCon Landscape Construction lengthened the veranda steps to create a more generous feel to the entrance, which is accessible from the pedestrian gate and driveway with limestone steppers. A large pot plant with underplanting is a beautiful focal point that draws your attention to the entrance. Aesthetically pleasing recycled timber sleepers were used vertically as the new retaining wall for the Liquidambar, and large landscape rocks act as steps to access this raised garden bed. A bin enclosure was added using the same recycled timber to create a functional, unifying structure. This harmonious design emphasises the lovely garden and welcoming entrance.
A combination of hardy and picturesque native plants creates a thriving, low-maintenance garden surround. Views into the service yard are enhanced by espaliered Cammellias on the boundary, creating a charming green outlook without taking up any usable ground plane. Paved spaces were built into the yard to offer a pleasant space for casual seating and a firepit, perfect for intimate entertainment.
