Pool Scene Solutions Project 4

Perched atop a sand dune, this project was far from simple, however Poolscene Solutions – true to its name – skillfully engineered a solution to deliver a spectacular pool that offers breathtaking panoramic views.

Together with the homeowner, the team devised a design that would maximise the limited usable space in the backyard. The block’s slope and sandy soil required careful consideration to create a pool that lends itself equally to entertaining and family relaxation. Incorporating a generous spa with six jets from Spa Electrics, the 8.2m x 3.7m design makes efficient use of the available flat ground, while the frameless glass fence ensures the view can be enjoyed from the water and adjacent living area.

Black ceramic tiles were selected for the pool interior to draw the eye and complement the home’s exterior render. A shade lighter, the surrounding porcelain pavers echo materials used in the interior living spaces for visual cohesion. As the sunlight fades, the black tiles coupled with Quantum WN Series LED submerged lights from Spa Electrics make swimming a magical, alluring experience.

To make use of the plentiful sunlight, the pool was ftted with a Heatseeker Plus solar heating system from Supreme Heating, and a cover to keep the warmth in overnight. Ensuring a perfect water temperature is maintained all year round, the spa utilises a Heatseeker Genesis Gas Heater, also from Supreme Heating. A full suite of equipment from Hayward Pool Products keeps the pool environment clean and healthy while reducing maintenance time; via an Omnilogic system, the homeowners can monitor and adjust all pool functions from the convenience of a smartphone app.
