SKY BLUE DREAMS-A STYLISTIC BLEND OF OLD AND NEW

This pool merges the old with the new and was designed to fit the shape of the existing home. A modern, raised spa with black tiles features a watersedge that meets the outskirts of the house structure. Designed and built by Showpiece Pools, this 9m x 4m pool was built with integration of the home and pool in mind, to enhance the beautiful aesthetic of this decked alfresco dining and entertaining area.

The pool surface is lined with light ceramic tiles which give the pool an alluring sky-blue shine. The black tiled spa is an eye-catching contrast with the light tiling, that sets this design apart from the typical, conventional pool. With modern grey coping and measuring 9m x 4m, this concrete pool is generously sized and perfect for a growing family that loves to entertain. This contemporary blend of light and dark tiling also includes clever additions such as frameless glass fencing and a spillover feature from the spa to the pool – a relaxing centrepiece of this project.

Showpiece Pools encountered some architectural and engineering challenges while constructing this project, but the expert team were able to adhere to the client’s wishes by supporting the house’s perimeter with concrete piers.

Bluestone was the obvious choice for the paving and coping, while a spotted gum deck surrounds the pool. The deck is an excellent space where people can gather for a casual afternoon drink, or a light outdoor meal. The pool is also solar powered and includes efficient LED lighting, resulting in lower energy costs while a Viron filter and pump keeps the pool clean all year-round.
