Inspired by the indulgent ambiance of the Peninsula Hot Springs, this project delivers an outdoor space that is nothing short of extraordinary. From the early stages of the home’s planning, the team of experts collaborated seamlessly to craft a unique landscape and pool design that integrates effortlessly with the architectural build.

 

Yarrabee & Castlemaine brought an exceptional eye for detail, combining large mudstone boulders with Castlemaine crazy paving to form natural, earthy hardscapes. These textures contrast beautifully with the dark grey pool tiles, reminiscent of a serene Australian waterhole. The design’s brilliance continues with the paving flowing into the pool’s swim-out and steps, blurring the line between land and water.

 

Layers of native plants, iconic to the Mornington Peninsula, wrap the space in a sense of tranquility and place, while custom copper waterspouts bring a dynamic sensory element – introducing gentle movement and sound to this truly immersive, resort-style retreat.

 

The clever interplay of colour and texture further elevates this outdoor space, subtly drawing your eye to every small, fine detail. Yarrabee & Castlemaine undoubtedly had a deep understanding of the space and homeowner’s vision, as the large mudstone boulders and crazy paving add renewed light, depth and character. The rich, smooth and natural textures of the stone perfectly offset the bushy, rough surrounding plants, converging the best of both worlds. The result is a native coastal oasis that harmonises with the home’s natural timbers and architectural elements.
