This unique project, designed and constructed by Striking Pools, features stunning 600mm x 100mm limestone tiling that cloaks the entire pool and its surrounds. The simple, clean design delivers a striking, contemporary feature, while the natural-toned tiling creates warm atmosphere. Featuring an L-shaped seating area with six heated spa jets, and a deep swimming area, this 5m x 2.5m pool is perfect for every member of the family.
Designed in close consultation with the house draftsman Andrew Ramage, and the structural engineer, the pool maximises available space without compromising on the clients’ vision. By designing the pool in conjunction with the house, Striking Pools was able to deliver a seamless design that sits cohesively alongside the home, as well as eliminate any structural engineering problems that would have arisen had it been constructed subsequently.
The limestone tiling for the outdoor entertaining area was carefully chosen to complement the materials used in both the interior and exterior of the home. The minimalist, high-end finish parallels that of the residence, however the soft, earthy cream hue doesn’t overpower the prominent features, such as the recycled red brick wall and the herringbone parquetry flooring. The outdoor area showcases landscaping by Striking Pools’ sister company Landart Landscape Design & Construction.
The high-end finish of the pool is complemented by state-of-the-art fittings, including a glass media filter, filtration pump and gas heater from AstralPool. The pool also features solar heating and saltwater self-chlorination, as well as two multicoloured LED lights from Spa Electrics.
Established in 2016 by Simon Buchanan and Luke Sheahan, Striking Pools was created as a combination of its two sister companies, Landart Landscape Design & Construction and Striking Constructions.
Specialising in custom concrete pools, Striking Pools only uses the highest-quality products and finishes to ensure a luxurious and long-lasting result. Taking great pride in each project it completes, Striking Pools constructs 15–20 pools each year throughout Melbourne, and the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas.
