This pared-back, elegant pool design is the latest project from Good Soil and Water. The homeowners wanted a low maintenance, hypoallergenic pool and spa that integrated seamlessly amongst the vibrant, rich landscape. Good Soil and Water has built a pool and spa that is cleverly situated to complement the stunning backyard. Working in and around the landscape was integral in fulfilling the clients’ brief. The custom, galvanised pool fence was constructed to capitalise on the open lawn and give the illusion of a pool without borders. The strategic placement of the pool and spa to the right of the backyard also protects the roots of the existing elm tree.

Tumbled limestone paving frames the pool and spa, flowing on from the lawn and home effortlessly. The spa sits flush against the top of the paving, fusing a luxurious design with ease of access. The patch of timber decking over the deep end has a striking floating appearance, and offers the homeowners a spot to lounge in the sun. Adding to the elegance of this project is a 30mm negative edge that curves around the spa, creating a relaxing and beautiful, pond effect. White ceramic tiles make up the pools’ interior, adding to the stripped-back, minimalist aesthetic of the project.

Specialising in premium concrete pools in the Melbourne metropolitan, Bayside and Mornington Peninsula areas, Good Soil and Water focuses on quality, building 12–15 pools each year.

The dedicated team has the ability to execute entire projects, from the landscaping to pool construction, minimising the need for clients to liaise with multiple contractors. This holistic process ensures cohesion and harmony is maintained between the home and the pool.
