Based on the Mornington Peninsula, Peninsula Pool Contractors specialises in the design and construction of high-quality residential and commercial pools. The company took advantage of the opportunities that the sloping site presented and capitalised on the beautiful views out over Bass Strait. The above-ground positioning of the 10m x 4m concrete pool has negated the need for fencing along one side, creating a feeling of openness and providing uninterrupted views.

Both the pool and generously-sized spa feature an elegant fully-tiled interior, with glass tiles in a blue mosaic mix. With the homeowners wanting the pool to create a feature in their backyard, one side of the pool features three striking acrylic windows.

The homeowners can bask in the sun on the timber deck at one end of the pool, which marries with the timber found on the home’s existing balcony, alfresco area and cladding. Honey-coloured granite was selected for the coping, reflecting the colour of the sandy dunes and complementing the exterior render on the home. As well as being beautiful, the granite is hard-wearing and will last forever.

Peninsula Pool Contractors installed frameless glass fencing to allow the natural beauty of the setting to shine.

The plantings were selected to reflect the natural surrounds and for their ability to withstand the coastal conditions.

Given that the property is a holiday home, it was especially important that the homeowners could spend their time enjoying the pool, rather than cleaning it. Peninsula Pool Contractors installed a Remco fully-automatic pool cover and a Paramount PV3 automatic in-floor pool cleaning and circulation system. Peninsula Pool Contractors is an authorised Remco dealer and licensed PV3 dealer.

The pool and spa are fully-automated and can be controlled remotely through an iPhone or iPad. This means that the homeowner can be in the office on Friday, turn the spa on and when he arrives at the beach house, it will be heated, ready and waiting.
